As a reader, I follow dozens of authors on Facebook and Twitter. I have come to know those on Facebook as people as well as writers, while those authors with only Twitter accounts remain strangers because they devote a high percentage of their content to self-promotion. I have never bought a book simply because of an author’s tweet, but have purchased multiple books from my author friends on Facebook.

Interesting information you don’t see anywhere else. It helps me understand what I’m doing on Twitter.

Great article! I’ve noticed that I get far better results with Twitter, but this helps clarify why.
