Hi. Good list…Just want to update the bookhitch description – bookhitch invites publishers and authors to add print, digital and audio books for free, and connects readers directly to publisher/author websites where they can purchase the title(s). The $19.95 per year/per title Premium Listing option offers a number of book promotion opportunities, including (in addition to the 120-word description and book reviews) a book cover image displayed next to the title, an author biography, first chapter previews, book trailers/videos, website advertising with book titles randomly displayed on the bookhitch homepage, and a separate webpage/ URL with direct links to listings on bookhitch that authors/publishers can add to the own websites.

Hi. Thank you for your great insight. As an indie publisher I often find it hard to balance cost of marketing and the expected return on my dollar. I felt so passionately that I recently launched my own author promotion website. It is free for authors and allows them to build their own customized landing page for their personal profile. They can share their latest books and also blog about their experience. Readers are able to follow authors and interact for a personal experience. The best thing is the website is optimized for search engines to generate great leads to your book.

You can find my personal profile and book on my Penblock author profile page:

This is the right website for anybody who wishes to find out about this topic. You understand a whole lot its almost hard to argue with you (not that I really would want to…HaHa). You certainly put a new spin on a subject that’s been written about for a long time. Great stuff, just great!

It’s a good list indeed. Thanks.

You can also deliver an instant impact right from your book description on your Amazon book page.

When you have a second to spare, please take a quick glance at my new invention: “KDP’s Best-Kept Secret Revealed: How to Embed Videos and Widgets in Your Book Description” at http://amzn.to/1evdevT.

This goes to show you that everything people know about KDP book description is WRONG. This technique is simply amazing. You can drop into your book description videos, Flash or JavaScript widgets (Amazon Affiliate’s own carousel listing and scrolling through your titles becomes very handy), social networking widgets or even an opt-in form. (I sold about 70 copies last week and received a dozen notes from the buyers, all of them fellow KDP authors or publishers.)

It’s worth a couple of seconds of your time. Take a quick glance at http://amzn.to/1evdevT.

Hi, I have a WordPress account and would have liked to re-blog your post. Problem is I self host all my WordPress blogs so the re-blog function does not work for me (I don’t have a blog on wordpress.com to re-blog via) . I am very happy to reference this blog from any article I put together and wanted to know if you are happy with that or whether you know of another method for re-blogging via a self hosted blog. Anyway if you have time, can you let me know. Many thanks and this is a great resource by the way.

Brian, thanks, yes I know about this, have the same re-blogging issue with another website.

But you can easily solve it: Just copy the title and the first two sentences to your blog,
and add “read more”, implementing the link to our blog into the words “read more”.

      Cheers, and HAPPY NEW YEAR,
