Artists and Writers Residency in Playa, Oregon
Playa supports artists, writers, and natural scientists who are committed and passionate about their work and who will benefit from time spent in Playa’s remote location. Residencies may be one-, two- or three-months and include accommodation and food. Located at the northeastern edge of the Great Basin in southeastern Oregon. The deadline for Playa’s winter/spring 2013 fellowship residencies will be announced in June 2012. Application fee $25

6-10-week residencies for artists working in all disciplines to advance their works by taking risks and exploring new possibilities. Each resident dedicates time to groups of youth in Learning Labs or intensive workshops that build upon the ideas and forms of the resident artist. Residency provides housing with adjacent studio, weekly stipend ($250), public and private receptions for the artist, and access to a broad network of established artists. Deadlines are in May of every year. Application fee $25
Amy Clampitt Fund
Applications are invited from poets or literary scholars of poetry with professional standing in their fields as well as emergingpoets/scholars are eligible for residencies. The level of accomplishment of the work submitted will be considered as it is commensurate with the applicant’s age and/or experience. The Amy Clampitt Fund Residency Program encourages individuals from all backgrounds to apply.
The Residency award consists of the use of the Amy Clampitt House in Lenox, MA free and clear for a six-month or twelve-month period beginning on February 1, 2013 and ending on January 19, 2014. Grants for travel to and from the Clampitt House are available in exceptional circumstances. A monthly stipend of $2,500 is paid to the resident fellow. It is expected that the resident fellow reside in the house full-time and focusing exclusively on his/her creative work.
Lenox is in rural Western Massachusetts, bordering Northern Connecticut and Eastern New York. As public transportation is virtually non-existent, it is necessary that residents make arrangements for their own transportation for the duration of the residency.
